5 Different Types of People Who Will Benefit From A Website
It’s easier than ever to put up your own website. But who should be interested?
If any of the following describes you:
Owner of a business,
You are planning to start a business,
Employee,
Hobbyist,
Or are opinionated about any subject
If any of these describe you, a website would benefit you.
Business owners: this should be obvious. With more and more people online every day, you are walking away from sales if you do not have an internet presence.
You are planning to start a business: start on the right foot and make a website an integral part of your marketing plan right from the start.
You work for someone else. As an employee, you should be aware of the two different kinds of websites that might be helpful to you.
First off, start a personal website to show what you know. The field does not matter; almost any would benefit from this type of site. A blog is the ideal platform for such a website. If you are job hunting in the future, your website will be a testament to your commitment and knowledge.
Second, if you are employed by a medium to large size company, you can start a site dealing with some aspect of the company. One possibility would be to chronicle the history of the corporation. Work on it in your spare time (not “on the clock”) and eventually let your superior know about your project. This will position you as a knowledgeable employee and set you apart from everyone else.
Hobbyists: if you are passionate about your hobby, start a site to tell the world about it. Thousands, probably millions, have done the same; why shouldn’t you?
Social commentator: if you have strong opinions in favor of or against some important issue, a good website will help to let others know. You can do more to influence the thinking of others with a website than almost any other medium.
