The value of a large opt-in list is usually grossly understated. It is never good enough to simply be making sales from your affiliate products. Failing to compile a fresh mailing list will result in lack luster or stagnant sales.
The purpose of building a list of your website visitors is to help you maintain contact with them and develop a relationship with them. Your mission in doing this is to turn as many as you possibly can into your customers. It has been said, and rightly so, that your list is the most valuable asset in your online business. With your list being that important, here are some tips that will make building a quality list possible.
* Offer incentives when possible for people to leave their name and email address. Having an incentive program is an effective way to get people to opt into your list. Offering a special report or free e-book is a very effective and easy to implement. To get the best results, it is always helpful to give them something for signing into your list. This tip alone can easily double the number of sign ups you have.
Many people try to accomplish their list building without offering any kind of incentive for signing up which can be a huge mistake. Finding quality incentives is so easy it only makes sense to offer one.
* Include a clearly written privacy policy. In all likely-hood, the main reason people refuse to leave their contact information is because they are afraid of being spammed. This has been a huge problem on the Internet for years. No one likes spam. If people have any reason to suspect that you will share their email address with others they will usually not let you have it. Give them a rock solid guarantee that you will not share their email address with anyone. This will put to rest the worries of people wanting to avoid spam. At one point I did not have a clearly defined privacy policy, however, after I added one I saw a 61% increase in the number of opt-ins I was receiving. Simple things like this can make a huge difference.
* Create multiple, tightly targeted lists. Very few comprehend the power of this tactic. By offering multiple lists on one site you drastically increase the chances of people finding something that interests them enough to sign up for. One of the lists could be for general updates, another could include tips your market would find useful, while another could be a monthly newsletter. No matter which option they choose you get their email address.
Think about what your market might be the most interested in and offer that information or access to it on your site. A visitor may have little interest in your general announcements mailings but be keenly interested in your newsletter. If you do not provided several options that person would have signed up for nothing. Two or three options are plenty. If your visitor has not found something that interests them in your two to three choices they are probably at the wrong page anyway.
* Make all your lists double opt-in. Providing for a double opt-in requires that people first sign up on your site, and then activate their subscription via a confirmation email. Doing this will take away any chance of being labeled a spammer and you will be able to show proof that people actually did requested your emailed information.
Additionally, double opt-in will give your a significantly higher quality list of readers, as opposed to those from the singe opt-in method. The reason is because since these people are interested in your offer enough to verify with the confirmation email, they tend to be much more serious about what you offer. If that is the case, they will be much more responsive to your offers compared to those who sign up for your list on a whim. A high quality list is critical to making sales.
By putting the tips mentioned here into use you would be able to build a large, high quality list in a short amount of time. I have used all of these methods and they work very well. I am confident that they will work for you as well.

One of the first things you always hear when starting out with Internet Marketing is that the money is in the list. It is very important that you start building up your own email contact list but just how do you start?
One great way that you can get started with building your list is to be a contributor in a JV giveaway event. In a JV giveaway event Internet Marketers are invited to submit a free gift such as an ebook, software program or access to a membership site.
You might not think that you have anything to give away as gift but check if any of the ebooks you have cluttering up your hard drive have giveaway rights. If so you could use one of those. If not then search Google for Private Label Rights products and you should soon have something that you can give away.
Now that you have chosen your product the next step is to build a squeeze page. This will capture the name and email address of your visitors in exchange for your gift. You will need an autoresponder to set this up so that the download link to your product is automatically emailed out whenever anybody fills out the form. You will also need a web hosting account to host your squeeze page and downloadable gift.
Once you have your squeeze page and autoresponder working you can then submit your gift to a JV giveaway. When the giveaway site opens to the public visitors will be able to browse through all the gifts that marketers have contributed and download as many of them as they like. If you have contributed a gift and people like the sound of it then they will be taken to your squeeze page and added to your list.
One feature that many JV giveaway sites have is the opportunity to upgrade your account so that your gift is listed in a more prominent position. This is certainly worthwhile thinking about as increasing the exposure of your gift will lead to more people seeing it on the giveaway site and joining your list as a result.
New JV giveaway sites are regularly opening so you need to keep finding new sites to participate in. By contributing to more and more giveaway sites you will keep getting exposure to your squeeze page and keep getting people signing up for your list.
Contributing gifts to JV giveaways is very straightforward and will only take a few minutes of your time so why not start contributing right away and start building your list?

Succeeding on the Internet comes down to understanding the basics. You need to pick a good market. You need to find out what they are willing to buy. And you need to use a proven marketing system.
List building is the next step in the process.
The people who join your list will buy things from you. That means your list is where all the profits come from. To extract those profits, you need to focus on list building.
The majority of your success on the Internet is due to generating traffic and getting those people to join your list. It’s rather easy to do this. Here’s how…
STEP ONE: Adopt the mindset that list building is the focal point of your business. In other words, put all your effort into getting people to opt in to your list. Everything you do should have this single end in mind.
The second part of the process is to put up a landing page with an opt in web form. The reason you give website visitors for opting in is to get a free information product (like report or audio or ezine subscription) they want.
Finally, start marketing the opt in page. A number of website marketing methods exist. They all have their good points and bad points. Below are the ones I like.
What I rely on to get more website traffic is joint ventures with ezine publishers, ezine ads and targeted articles.
Article marketing is simple. You write up a 500 to 600 word article about a topic your market is interested in. At the end of the article you include a resource box with a link to your lead capture page.
It’s a good idea to get a couple of articles out each week. Use article submission services to submit the articles for you. Doing it yourself takes forever.
Publishers of ezines tend to accept advertising in the form of classifieds or solo emails. Contact the ezine publishers in your market and find out which ones you can advertise in.
Keep in mind, the name of the game is to drive traffic to your lead capture page. So your ezine ad is nothing more than and ad for your lead capture page and the free offer you have there.
Joint ventures are a little more tricky. The idea is to find people in your market with lists who are not direct competitors. Then ask them to promote your free offer to their list. And, of course, you’ll do the same for them.
Joint ventures work when there is reciprocation. In most cases, you can’t expect a joint venture partner to promote your free offer if you can’t promote something for them in return.
Another huge point: Do something every day to drive traffic to your lead capture page. Consistency is the big key to growing your list. The more you focus on traffic generation the bigger your list will get.
Next time I’ll go over some of the basics of monetizing the list.

I’m sure you want to have a business that lasts for the long haul. There’s a lot involved in running a business, but you want to run it to make money day in and day out maximizing your profits while minimizing your work load. One way you can to this for the success of your business is by building an opt in email list. You can talk to just about anyone who is doing well online and they will tell you that building an opt in email list and monetizing it effectively often becomes their bread and butter.
So you’ve decided that’s what you are going to do to, so you do your home work and learn every technique about building an opt in email list that you can think of doing. After all the effort, you still find yourself scratching your head, because maybe you built a list, but you’re not making any money from that list.
Unfortunately you could even be losing money because the cost and maintenance to building an opt in email list are more than the profits that you receive from the unresponsive list.
You think over and over… ‘they say the money is in the list’, but it might only be for the chosen few who are building an opt in email list. They must knows something you don’t because of your total failure to even profit from your list. So you just say forget it and go on to the next big thing that’s supposed to be making people a bundle of cash on the Internet
But… I really want you not to give up on this idea, because I really feel the key to having the success you want online is in building a targeted email list. DON’T give up on this important piece of your business.. ever! Learn how to do it, but the right way like anything is the key to making it work.
So what’s the barrier that keeps you from building an opt in email list that’s holding you back to success? Well, there are many factors involved that need to be implemented to successfully building an opt in email list. I only have room in this article to discuss one ingredient to the recipe, but this is a main ingredient that if you don’t have and add to the mixture you will be pulling your hair out forever. And for some of us like me, without a lot of hair, it’s not something I can afford to do (haha).
This all-important ingredient is the foundation for your success in building an opt in email list. I’ll call it your mindset or the way you approach building a list. There are three very important mindsets that you need to implement in building an email list the right way.
1-Think quality not quantity
It’s been proven over and over again that a smaller quality subscriber list will always out perform even a huge list with low quality prospects. Your mindset has to be to approach building an opt in email list with the addition of only quality prospects. It can be more difficult to do this, but in the long run you will be ensuring your long-term success, versus having to waste you time and eventually dump a list that doesn’t produce.
Let’s face it, building an opt in email list the correct way is going to take the higher road approach. Sticking to the proper mindset during this process will give you the reasons why you are putting forth the effort and therefore will help you do it the way that will ensure your success.
2-There is only one person on your list. Many list builders make the error of communicating to all on their list like they were in front of them speaking at a convention. DON’T DO THIS. So what do I mean?
Just be personable and when you are writing an email you are writing it for just one person. You want them to feel that you are there for them (of course you should be) and you really want to help them. They are on your list for your expertise and help you can provide them. Never give the impression that you are too big and important for your prospects.
Keep this in mind and implement it and you will have loyal responsive subscribers that will trust you and want to respond to what you have to offer.
3-Develop the perfect system to attract the most targeted prospect and then use that system a million times over. Build your squeeze pages, landing pages, marketing and advertising around this thought to build the optimal list.
Do you know who Ray Crock is? He’s the founder of McDonalds. What a master at applying this mindset. He built and tweaked his restaurant till he was maximizing the profits he was earning. And when he had a winning system, he multiplied the winning concept over and over in the form of franchises.
So don’t just have the mindset of just attracting any one on your list. Create a system to really attract quality prospects and then you’ll have something you can do over an over to really build a great profitable list.
In summary, Building an opt in email list is done one subscriber at a time. Be that ideal communicator for that one person and be that for everyone on your list. Don’t act like a big shot because you’ll lose prospects. Always be personable and approachable.

If you have been in network marketing for any length of time you most likely been told that Network Marketing is easy and a unique form of business with its own rules.
We will identify the things that 95% of network marketers do that kill their business. Then we’ll look at some alternatives that can really make you a home business success story.
OK without waiting any longer here are the top 7 MLM lead generation errors…
1-Failure to write out a plan of action 2-Having a belief that any “joe blow” can do this 3-Believing it’s as simple as just sharing with others 4-Bugging friends and family is a marketing strategy 5-You need to give away company cds and dvds 6-The idea that every NO is closer to a Yes 7-That the 3 foot rule is really a solid marketing style
Does that list look like the stuff you have been taught to do by your upline or company? Well most people will never duplicate the success of the top income earners in their company using these methods. The fact is unless you are a super personality with incredible sales skills you will not succeed with these techniques.
Well let me say that while lots of people have had lot’s of success in the past doing these things, the times have changed and what used to work in mlm doesn’t anymore. Lot’s of things have changed in the last 20 years and the mlm industry needs to wake up and see what’s going on.
New methods for meeting and connecting with people are now making it possible for the network marketer to utilize the power of the internet and the social marketing sites to dramatically cut their marketing expenses and even advertise to interested and qualified prospects for free. The out-dated methods still taught by the majority of mlm’s will not get you the financial freedom that you are seeking.
How can you overcome these mistakes that cause you to make your friends and family uncomfortable to be around you, because you are always pitching them on the latest “business opportunity” you have.Or the fear you have of picking up the phone and calling old high school classmates you haven’t talked to in years.
Have you felt like it was just a huge waste of time and money spending hours and hours calling hundreds or thousands of leads who didn’t want what you were selling? Have you placed classified ads, both online and off? Or done pay- per- click or banner ads without the success you expected? Well there is an alternative that can put a smile back on your face.

While you are thinking about using a specific list building technique, make sure that you are genuine in your approach. You should never do any such thing that may be taken by the subscribers as an abuse of trust.
Essential Elements There are the two essential elements that are the must haves for every list. One, your list must have value. It means that whatever you offer, it must be valuable to the subscribers. Two, it must be free. This means that besides being useful, your offerings must also be free for the subscribers. Do not try to sell something through such lists. These attempts are not likely to be taken in the right spirit. No matter whichever list building technique you are using, make sure that the list has both these elements.
Write Down The Benefits Of Joining The List While you are using different techniques to build the list, do not forget to tell your potential subscribers the array of benefits that they can enjoy by becoming a part of the list. This description must be presented in an impressive way. Irrespective of the list building technique, make sure that you are able to offer the following benefits for your valued subscribers.
The subscribers will be able to get news and important announcements right in their inbox in a timely manner.
They can even get workshop and training videos, free of cost, through email. You may also attract potential subscribers by offering them several discounts and special deals.
You can also offer free but valuable content, specially for the opt in subscribers
Make The Benefits Of Subscribing Your Main Selling Points In fact, it is not an exaggeration to say that you can even make these benefits your selling points while you trying to develop a list. This way, we can say that the best list building technique is to offer the benefits in an alluring way so that the visitors are convinced to opt in. However, never try to misuse the trust of the subscribers. When a visitor subscribes and permits you to send emails, they expect that they will be able to enjoy all the benefits mentioned by you. If you do not fulfill what you promised, you may not be able to make the best use of such lists.
In order to find the best list building technique, it is very important for you to understand the emotional aspects associated with such a list. Most of the people want to be involved with certain topics or causes. You can use such emotional needs of the visitors to turn them into your valued subscribers.

In online marketing business like affiliate marketing, no traffic means no sales. That’s the reason why most affiliates or webmasters easily shell out even big bucks just to get top rankings on the search engines. Once you are promoting a product or service in you web page, you need to have more visitors that can be potential consumers to your products and services. This is one of the fundamental rules to succeed in online marketing business. Here, you just need to start and get it right and you can do some things wrong but still manage to succeed. Don’t ever try to get it wrong because no matter how hard you work, you can never find yourself on the way to success.
I guess everyone will agree if I said that obtaining enough highly targeted traffic is the key to success in affiliate marketing business. This method is proven to be effective if you’re promoting or reselling product or service online. One of the best and most secured marketing strategies that affiliate marketers can employ is the strategy of paying for performance. This means that your investments are used only on results such as additional sales and incomes.
Let’s take a practical example. Paying for performance could mean giving a commission to a sales person only when new sale is made. This strategy assures you real profit because you can already compute the amount money you have to spend for every new sale made. Also, you can avoid spending any marketing bucks because every cent you use up has either come from sale or will generate a sale in the future.
And one of the proven and most efficient ways of acquiring sales in affiliate marketing business is by drawing laser-targeted traffic towards your web site and converting them to sales by means of Pay-Per-Click Search Engines (PPCSEs).
Overture claims to be the Internet’s best pay-per-click search engine. It is the world’s leading resource of Pay-For-Performance search on the web. And what’s more enticing about Overture? When you advertise in Overture Premium Listings, your site will absolutely appear in the leading U.S. search engines like Yahoo, InfoSpace, MSN, Netscape, AltaVista, Lycos and more. Plus, you can get the benefit of reaching more than 80% of active Internet users.
PPCSEs like Overture can bring impressive sales because they permit you to pay for performance by means of attracting precisely targeted traffic to your niche. And this means people or site visitors who are actively searching for what precisely you are offering or selling. Overture’s secret is to drive laser-targeted traffic to your website by proposing or bidding on keywords that are related to the product or services that you are offering. And this strategy works this way: the more exact the keyword is, the better results you’ll receive and the less you’ll have to spend for each new sale.
Overture drives targeted traffic by keeping you away from the general keywords that are very common and usually come expensive and by casting a wide net of laser-focused keywords that are more targeted, not so expensive, and with high conversion rate. I’ll tell you, attracting laser-targeted traffic through Overture is nothing but a “Win-Win” Situation.
Overture’s strategy also allows your visitors to respond. And what’s important once you get your visitors to respond? Well, you are given a chance to develop lifetime customers that will patronize your product and will buy from you over an over again. Bear in mind that one-time sales can’t be a key in creating a highly-profitable business especially online. You can only achieve this through PPCSEs like Overture, which gets your site visitors to respond. And once it happens, you can constantly market and sell your products to them.
Another tactic that Overture uses in order to gain laser-targeted traffic is to have a “Back-Up Response” for those who “almost bought” your product on the first visit. To successfully realize this, you need to market and advertise to them over and over again until you make them a new customer. Offer them an incentive so that they’ll allow you to advertise to them over a certain time span by means of e-mail or post mail. Here are some of the back-up responses which you can use: send a free e-mail newsletter, give a free catalog and offer a promo or sweepstakes which gives them the chance to win free merchandise.
Other things that will surely attract lifetime customers to your site are offering valued customer discounts, giving seasonal and special offers especially to your repeat customers and any other incentives to purchase. Don’t get me wrong with this; the abovementioned strategies can surely develop a trusted relationship between you and your customers. Aside from patronizing your products over their lifetime, they may even refer others to you or to your site.
To sum up, one of the most effective and secured marketing strategies that any businessman can utilize particularly those who are involved in online marketing is the approach of only paying for performance. And one of the most helpful online strategies to create more sales is by pulling laser targeted traffic towards your website and converting them to sales by means of Pay-Per-Click Search Engines like Overture.
