The Top 3 Deadly Email Marketing Mistakes You Should Avoid

Monday, November 17th, 2008 |
by Henry Zeng

When you decide to have an opt-in list, it is not just a matter of sending your subscribers your promotional materials or catalogs. There are so many things to consider in avoiding many complications. While there are so many ways you can make people subscribe to your list, there are also some things you must do to avoid subscribers from wanting to get off from your email list.

It is important that you keep your list clean and manageable. Arrange it by using the many tools and technologies available for your opt-in list. Your investment in this marketing strategy is well worth it with all the coverage you will get which will likely be converted into sales then to profit. As a tip, here are three things to avoid when emailing your list.

1) Not take notice of your unsuccessful sends. These are the e-mails that bounce. Bounced emails, also known as undeliverable emails, are those emails that, for whatever reason, were not successfully received by the intended subscriber.

There are bounces that happen or occur due to closed mailboxes, services busy, or the inbox of the recipient is full at that time. There are those bounce messages that are simply undeliverable ever. Some other reasons for this can be an invalid email address, a misspelled email address, or an email address that was abandoned and erased already.

Manage your list by putting markings on those that bounce. Erase an email account from your email list so that you have an accurate statistics and records as to how many are actually getting your mail.

2) Not provide an unsubscribe feature in your site and an unsubscribe link in your mails. When someone in your list sends a request to be unsubscribed, always take that request seriously. If you don’t take them off your list and keep sending them your e-mails, you are now spamming them.

When you are reported as a spammer, you and your business will get into a lot of trouble. You can be reported to the authorities and maybe blacklisted by many ISPs. You will lose your current subscribers this way and potentially many more in the future.

3) Provide pornographic or shocking and disturbing content in your emails. It is sometimes hard to decipher the age of the recipient and you may get many complaints. Stick to the nature of your site and business.

Remember these tips so that you can have a healthy relationship with your subscribers as well as be kept within the boundaries of what is allowed in sending mails to an opt-in list.

Know all about Get More Buyers:

A lot of people these days are interested in a career in Internet marketing. To learn the techniques of successful marketing, you could use a tool called Get More Buyers.

Michael Rasmussen, the 31 year old who wrote the program is a part of the field and has shared the substantial information he has gathered over the years.

The program shows that you can make good money only if you can build up a group of buyers. Rasmussen tells us that subscribers who don’t buy are useless. That is the essence of Internet marketing. If your subscribers do not buy from you, they won’t contribute to your success. So you should work at creating a large buyer base.

Get More Buyers is a program, not a piece of literature so as you delve deeper it gets technical. For instance, it introduces marketers to the concept of a marketing funnel and teaches you how to use it. It teaches you the concept of entry level selling, helping customers migrate to higher levels involving more and more expensive products and so on. As different customer sets emerge so do different lists of buyers.

Next is the important topic of managing your lists. Rasmussen recommends a particular autoresponder for this task. Ingeniously, it is full of top options. This helps you keep lists separate yet integrate them.

If you’re feeling nervous and confused at all this hard learning, please don’t panic, Rasmussen has outlined ten easy to understand strategies to help you use the Get More Buyers program easily. Firstly, always begin with lower cost products. Naturally these are more acceptable to buyers and a growing list of buyers means you’ve made a successful start.

First, you should start with lower priced products, and gradually move on to costlier ones.

Secondly, you should tactfully part with insider information, telling your customers where to go, what to do. This is called a Warrior Special Offer.

Four: get to know all about upsells and one-time offers. These bring more customers, increase sales, fetch you extra revenue.

You could also use one time offers and up sells. These are effective ways of boosting sales and bringing in big money.

Affiliate promotionals are important. You could publish a thank you page promo, highlighting products you own on someone else’s page.

Strategy seven teaches you how you can contribute to a one time offer and strategy eight teaches important information on contributing to someone else’s product.

The niche area of holiday promos features as strategy nine. Use major holidays and event giveaway promotions at this level.

Last but by no means least comes strategy ten. Here you delve into possibilities of cross promotion where you collaborate with a partner. The partner helps promote your product while you do the same for them.

Get More Buyers provides a lot of information that is vital for every Internet marketing professional in today’s competitive, challenging world. If you are sure that there is money in the list you have built up, check out Get More Buyers. This will bring about a vast change in your outlook about this concept, and keep it that way forever.

The Effectiveness of Email Marketing

Friday, October 31st, 2008 |
by Gibson Maseko

Email marketing is a very popular vehicle of distributing marketing messages on the Internet. Time has proven again and again that email marketing is a very effective way to promote anew product or service. Let’s us look closely at the benefits and the downside of using emails in selling products.

To the ‘Internet Savvy’ mail marketing creates a certain potential not found elsewhere. This is a technique that can reach millions of prospects at lightning speeds. This is certainly possible with other types of advertising but traditional methods such as television, radio and the print media are not nearly as effective for reaching potential customers around the world all at once.

One biggest advantage to this form of marketing is the low running cost associated with a campaign. Other forms of advertising can be very costly but email marketing involves very low overheads. A list of recipients is imperative before you can start your campaign. The cost of email distribution is also very low and easily absorbed.

The cost of email marketing is kept to a bare minimum despite the need for the email to be created and any images that may be necessary. Often it only involves paying writer and graphic designers to create a great copy for your campaign. The cost of these services will vary pretty widely but in general you will pay more for writers and designers with more experience. The more experience one has the better the result will be.

Spam issues are the biggest problem any email marketing campaign may have. This will cost some undesirable effects on your profit margin. Spam continues to be a big issue among many email users.

Email management systems have an uncanny ability to remove all messages that uses headlines that are similar to spam messages. Those which are not automatically deleted may be deleted without being opened simply because the recipient does not recognize the sender. With an email marketing campaign there is always a risk and people will show no reluctance to report your company to the relevant authorities for sending out spam.

Now you have understood the benefits and risks of email marketing, you may be interested to know how to use this for your online business. The most important point to remember if you want to succeed in any email campaign is the list. The mailing list will be but not restricted to your former, the current and all prospects who have an interest in your products and services and have agreed to receive the emails.

It is also imperative you have nicely crafted content to interest the reader. It should put the message across without appearing to be a hard sales pitch. Most email marketers offer some form of incentive for responding to the message.

How To Use Autoresponders For Marketing

Friday, October 31st, 2008 |
by Gibson Maseko

By using auto responders online, you can engage in inexpensive and effective marketing. Marketing through auto responder series is a popular strategy to increase repeat website visits and sales. Many plans used by website owners are included.

Adobe .pdf e-books are great monthly formats for your eZine, as opposed to daily or weekly ones, and can be delivered through an auto responder. Some people have difficulty deciding what to include in their book, but if they stick with a basic number of articles and remember to include other items, like quotes to inspire, tips from the industry, favorite websites, and pro advice, they will have a great e-book.

Your e-book does not have to be entirely text, however, as it can include complex full-color graphics and multimedia file links. Many e-books offer discounts for annual subscriptions, and most charge a monthly fee. Selling ads can be profitable, especially if you do it for the auto responder that sends out announcements for your monthly eZine in addition to the informational series that you use to entice new readers.

Your site could maximize your potential further with the addition of an article directory. Regular article directories can include a variety of topics, but these types of articles are designed to focus on a specific industry topic and always include their own ad along the top of their page. Then they invite others to add their website links via a link exchange program, listing themselves in your directory.

Including open submission of articles on the directory is another method, as long as a resource box is included that permits the use of an author’s website address. Link exchanges such as these will ultimately enhance the number of people who come to the website through other site links. Enter ‘link exchange software’ or ‘article directory software’ into a favorite search engine for help with each.

Along with the other marketing techniques, it is sometimes fun to add an online class, if you feel knowledgeable enough about your area to do so. Though every course is sent through auto responder and should include truly helpful information, the courses will be pointless if they do not encourage visitors to return back to the website via a link. After getting customers to return to the website, webmasters ask them to fill out a form for a email subscription which will be taken care of by auto responder. If people sign up, they can be given more information about the products through the courses.

You have been shown how simple it can be to use the following as marketing tools: eZines, eBooks, directories, and online courses. Internet marketing can be an effective way to increase your business, even if your business is not internet based.

Learn About Managing Your Own Business’ Email Marketing

Friday, September 5th, 2008 |
by Darrel Hawes

Email marketing can be an extremely effective means of marketing your products and services. It is used by large and small companies, by non-profits, and every type of organization imaginable. It is so widely used because it works.

It works because of a few key advantages: small cost, speed, viral(messages can be forwarded, without your involvment), can direct traffic to an offline offer, and with certain systems, messages can be customized.

A great example of customization is Amazon.com. Amazon will periodically send recommendations based upon what the customer has purchased in the past. This is a powerful technique! If I receive information about marketing and self-help books, I pay attention. Messages relating to cooking or yoga (extremely popular with some markets) would be ignored by me. And everyone has a similar story: they are interested in some subjects and not other subjects. The more closely email messages or other communications hit the “hot buttons” for that individual, the greater likelihood that conversation will continue.

With an email campaign, you can prompt traffic to an offline offer. An example of this is coupons. The bookselling company Borders often emails me coupons to use in their local bookstore. This is also applied in service businesses, which will issue “good for one day only” coupons to help fill in empty slots.

If you don’t yet have the tools to manage an email marketing system, you have two major categories of services and products from which to choose. Your first choice is whether to purchase a program that installs on your own server, or whether to use a “hosted” service. A “hosted” service means the program and your email database are stored on a third-party’s server.

The advantages of using your own program include: more flexible than a hosted service, no ongoing monthly fees, and more opportunities for customization. Popular options are Auto Reponse Plus and Mailloop.

Hosted services like Aweber, GetResponse, 1ShoppingCart, and EmailAces are pretty common options. There’s usually a small, upfront cost if at all, but they also require a monthly fee. These kinds of systems can be advantageous in that you don’t need to deal with spam or server maintenance.

Email marketing can, if used properly, easily increase your revenue, help retain your customers, and be an excellent part of your marketing mix.
