Affiliate Program. Should You Set One Up?
To really put your business into jet propelled marketing, you need to use affiliates. So what do we mean by affiliates? It means that you have a lot of people selling your product for you and you would pay them a commission. One thing that’s really good about this is that any payments made, are made after you have been paid.
Because you have a lot of people promoting your product, it will now also be seen as a popularproduct. This also adds to your sales. It is a sort of viral effect. You may have to share 50% of the sales with your affiliates, but you will still end up making good money.
If you did all the promotion your self, even with a big list of e-mail subscribers. And let’s say your list was 100, 000, and you had a conversion rate of 0.4%. This would mean that you would sell four hundred copies and keep 100% of the income.
Now, of course, you still use your list, but we also have 100 affiliates promoting the product. Now if each affiliate made 10 sales, you have made a further 1000 sales of your product. It’s true, you may now have to share 50% of the income with your affiliates, but you have still made a lot more money than if you had gone it alone.
If you own a product, you really need to use an affiliate program. How can you set up an affiliate program? There are two ways and both of them a good. You could buy software to run on your server. I’ve personally had experience with a software program called Jam Affiliates from Jrox.com. It is powerful and easy to use and administer.
Another way you could go, is to use ClickBank. Many affiliates prefer ClickBank, as they are assured, they will be paid. Another advantage of ClickBank, is that you don’t need to go through the difficulties of installing a script on your server. Affiliates can join ClickBank for free. To be a seller on ClickBank requires a small one time fee.
Personally I love ClickBank. For one thing, ClickBank recruits the affiliates. It also handles all the administration duties, which makes my life much easier. You don’t have to worry about paying your affiliates, it’s all done by ClickBank. So when you get your check from ClickBank, it is all yours. And your affiliates love it as they feel more secure with ClickBank.
From this it is easy to see that to be successful in marketing your products on the Internet, you must use affiliates. The two affiliate programs that I have mentioned are both very good. But I must say that ClickBank is the easiest, as all the administration is handled by them. The small commission that you pay is well worth the less hassles.
